Cornah
Perth | The Vault Takeover
Perth's The Vault is shaking, and Cornah is administering a pure, unadulterated dose of drum & bass. This isn't for the faint-hearted; it's for the crew who live for the amen break, the sub-bass pressure, and the feeling of collective acceleration. The room is dark, loud, and completely surrendered to the rhythm. Averaging a fierce 172 BPM, the set is technically brilliant, with a harmonic focus on 5A that gives it a driving, slightly melancholic edge, punctuated by shifts to 12A and 3B.
The energy is overwhelmingly in the low-end (0.7413), a testament to the colossal weight of the kicks and subs, while the mids (0.2023) handle the intricate breaks and sparse, haunting synth stabs. Cornah's mixing is fast, precise, and functional, keeping the energy at a relentless peak with quick cuts and double-drops. The tracklist is a who's who of modern jungle and DnB: opening with Paige Julia's ominous, ten-minute 'Indisputable' sets a deep, atmospheric tone. Dropping the timeless bomb of DJ Zinc's 'Super Sharp Shooter' is a guaranteed floor-clearer, while 'Amoss & Molecular - Ur Turn' and 'Amoss - Powder Vip' represent the cutting edge of minimal, techy pressure.
'Myriad - Modern Times' provides a moment of atmospheric depth, and 'Jappa & Tuggawar - Bazooka' is pure dancefloor artillery. The journey starts dark and deep, hits a classic peak with 'Super Sharp Shooter', and closes with the raw, jungle-inflected pressure of Special Request's 'Pull Up (Tim Reaper Remix)'. This tracklist is built for the front row.
