Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is BPM detection?
TuneLab uses a neural network trained on annotated tracks. Typical accuracy is within 0.1 BPM for electronic music. Tracks with tempo changes show the dominant tempo.
Why do different BPM tools give different results?
Detection algorithms interpret rhythm differently. Some round to integers, others may double or halve the tempo. TuneLab reports the most likely value in the 60 to 200 BPM range.
What formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, and M4A. Files up to 30 MB. Processing time scales with file length.
